Delicious Clam Chowder Recipe

This recipe is delicious and not too difficult to make. Take your time and enjoy the flavours and experience of cooking at home.

Clam Chowder

Ingredients:
3 c. white potatoes (diced – uncooked)
5 c. water
1 package of bacon chopped and fried (cook bacon – drain fat)
1 onion (diced)
2 garlic cloves (crushed and chopped)
1/2 cup of diced carrots
1/4 cup of chopped parsley
1 green pepper (diced)
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon of thyme
2 cans of clams

Cook bacon in large pot, remove fat but leave enough in the pan to saute the veggies. Put all the veggies into the pot with the bacon, and add water.

Cook for about an hour on simmer, then add the clams along with the juice and cook another 15 minutes.

If you want a thicker soup, add 1 teaspoon of flour to 1/2 cup cold water and shake or mix until flour is dissolved.

Add it to the soup and boil for at least 5 minutes.

Serve in your favorite soup bowl add salt and pepper to taste.
